Following the rules of the road is not just for some drivers. Georgia residents are most likely taught in driver’s training that all of the traffic laws are meant for everyone. This includes rules regarding right-of-way, speeding and staying within the designated lanes. Unfortunately, some people occasionally ignore these rules despite the potential to cause a car accident that could either injure or even kill innocent people on the road.

For some reason, a 32-year-old woman recently decided not to wait in traffic. She made the choice to start driving in the emergency lane according to witnesses. This illegal action caused a multiple car accident that involved a series of crashes in what could best be described as a chain reaction.

This wreck occurred in Gwinnett County on GA 360 at around 3:20 pm and caused considerable damage. One vehicle flipped over, which resulted in its two occupants needing to be mechanically cut out of the vehicle. To make matters worse, multiple individuals were hospitalized. One of them, a 39-year-old woman, died as a result of her injuries.

While investigating this horrible car accident, authorities have discovered that the female driver was a wanted suspect from another county for vehicular homicide. The family of the deceased victim retains the right to file a wrongful death claim against the driver. Any information gathered by authorities regarding this accident may be helpful in proving negligence, which is required before any monetary awards may be considered by a Georgia court. The injured victims also have the right to file personal injury claims for damages, which may include out-of-pocket medical expenses and possible lost wages during their time of recovery.
