A man lost his life in a recent motor vehicle accident in Georgia. The car accident took place along Highway 84. The man’s family members are now left to grieve and question how their loved one could have lost his life.

The accident occurred on a Tuesday at around 4:30 p.m. According to the Georgia State Patrol, the man and a woman were in a car on the highway. They apparently decided to stop to relocate a blue barrel that was apparently in the way.

While the man was returning to the car, another car came over a hill, striking the man. The driver who reportedly caused the fatal accident remained at the crash scene following the collision. Authorities said they were investigating and that formal charges were pending their investigation.

The family of the man who died in the crash may decide to file a wrongful death claim against the man who appears to have caused the car accident, seeking a judgment for monetary damages sustained. If the man is charged and convicted in criminal court, proof of the conviction may be presented in a related civil court proceeding in an attempt to establish liability. Once liability is formally established before the court, claims for documented financial losses will be adjudicated. Monetary compensation from a successfully fought lawsuit cannot undo the events leading to the fatal accident; however, it may be helpful for addressing funeral costs, loss of income, pain and suffering and emotional distress resulting from the tragic Georgia collision.
