A motor vehicle accident recently occurred in Georgia. The car accident led to one death. It happened on a recent Friday.

The car crash took place at a little before 9:30 a.m. A pickup truck and a tractor-trailer were involved. According to authorities, the two vehicles crashed into each other right before an exit off of Interstate 75.

Police reported that the person driving the pickup truck, a 32-year-old man, died at the accident scene. Meanwhile, the man who was driving the tractor-trailer, 36, suffered no injuries. Five northbound lanes were closed down following the accident. Authorities continued to investigate the collision.

If the police investigation reveals that the tractor-trailer driver caused the Georgia accident, the surviving family members of the pickup truck driver may choose to file a wrongful death claim against the tractor-trailer driver and against his employer, seeking damages. Competent proof of negligence — such as speeding or driving while distracted — is required to establish financial responsibility in a manner that satisfies the civil court hearing the case. A successfully navigated car accident case may lead to a damage award, which may help the deceased victim’s family members to cover his funeral costs. Monetary compensation may also help to cover the loss of companionship as well as the loss of income for the man’s dependents if he has any. A monetary award cannot reverse the events leading to the deadly crash, but it may help the family members to experience a sense of justice in such an ordeal.
