Sadly, a teenager recently lost her life in a tragic car accident in Georgia. The car accident, which occurred in the early morning hours on a Wednesday, involved a single motor vehicle. The girl who died in the collision was 16 years old.

The car accident took place at about 1:41 a.m. According to police, the 16-year-old girl was riding in the car as the driver was heading east. All of a sudden, the male driver lost control of the automobile.

The car ended up leaving the roadway and striking a tree. The girl passed away at the accident scene, while the male driver suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Authorities continued to investigate the cause of the motor vehicle crash.

The surviving family members of fatal car accident victims may decide to file wrongful death claims  seeking damages. Competent proof of negligence, such as evidence that someone was driving too quickly or texting and driving, is necessary to establish liability before the civil court hearing personal injury cases in Georgia. Only then will the court adjudicate claims for financial damages, which may help with addressing pain and suffering along with emotional distress resulting from an accident. A monetary award in a successfully fought suit cannot undo the events leading to a loved one’s tragic death in a car accident. However, it may help surviving family members to experience a sense of justice and ultimately make it a little easier for them to move on from the painful ordeal.
