A multiple-vehicle crash recently took place in the state of Georgia. The car accident occurred on a Monday and caused injuries to several individuals. It also caused State Route 10 to be shut down for hours.

The Georgia State Patrol reported that a sport utility vehicle was going east along the roadway. Authorities sat the SUV driver told them that he then fell asleep and ended up breaching the road’s middle line. At that point, his vehicle side-swiped another one.

As a result of the impact, the sport utility vehicle was spun around and struck a second sport utility vehicle head-on. Both of these accidents took place on the westbound side of the highway. The driver believed responsible for the accident was taken to the hospital by helicopter. In addition, all four individuals riding in the second SUV were taken by ambulance to another medical center, with one of them having to undergo surgery. The driver of the side-swiped vehicle suffered no injuries.

The injured occupants of the second sport utility vehicle may choose to file personal injury claims against the man who reportedly caused the head-on crash, seeking a judgment for monetary damages sustained. Competent proof of negligence is necessary to establish liability in civil court, at which point claims for actual monetary damages will be adjudicated. A monetary award in a successfully fought case may help to cover medical costs and other losses related to the Georgia car accident, including any loss of wages. It may also help in addressing the pain and suffering or emotional distress that typically accompanies these types of accidents.
