Car accident involving 3 cars leads to injuries

A three-vehicle accident recently occurred in Georgia. Three individuals were hurt in the collision. Reportedly, local police in Cartersville cited one driver following the afternoon car accident.

The accident was reported at about 3:30 p.m. on a Monday. According to law enforcement, one automobile was headed north along U.S. 41 when the driver attempted to turn left at an intersection. Meanwhile, a second automobile was southbound, approaching the intersection. A third vehicle was facing west at the intersection.

The driver of the third car told police that the first car ended up pulling out ahead of the second car and flipped. It then crashed into the third car. The woman driving the first car told police that she didn't see the second car, while the motorist in the second car reported that she actually had a green light and was simply going through the intersection. The driver of the first car received a citation for not yielding when making a left turn.

The drivers of the first and second cars and a passenger in the second car were all transported to the hospital with injuries. The other driver reportedly suffered knee injuries but was not taken to the hospital. The injured parties appear to have grounds to file personal injury claims against the driver of the first car. If liability is established to the satisfaction of a Georgia civil court, based upon a showing of negligence, claims for damages will be adjudicated. If the citation issued by the authorities results in a conviction, proof of that may be presented in a related civil claim to establish financial responsibility for the car accident.
