Georgia car accident leads to 1 death

A man recently lost his life in the state of Georgia due to a motor vehicle accident. The car accident involved two pickup trucks. It took place on a Monday in Jones County.

According to police, the two pickup trucks were going north on a road. A man driving one of the trucks ended up dying in the accident. Meanwhile, the other truck's driver suffered no injuries.

The pickup of the man who passed away rolled and flipped before landing in the road's southbound ditch. Following the accident, authorities blocked traffic in the lanes going south. Police continued to investigate the accident.

The police investigation may yield additional information about who was at fault in the car accident in the state of Georgia. It if it is determined that the surviving pickup truck driver caused the accident due to negligence -- for example, he was driving too quickly for road conditions or was driving while distracted -- he may be held liable for the other driver's death. The loved ones of the deceased driver may choose to file a wrongful death claim against the other driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained in the crash. Although monetary compensation cannot undo the events leading to their loved one's death, it may help them to experience a sense of justice and thus more easily move forward from such a tragic ordeal. Before claims for damages will be adjudicated, liability must be established in a manner that satisfies the civil court hearing the case, based upon a showing of negligence.
