Car accident leads to 1 death, 3 injuries

A teenager recently lost his life in a motor vehicle accident in Georgia. Three other people were also injured in the car accident. The single-car crash occurred early in the morning on a Sunday.

The accident took place at a little before 1:45 a.m. along Georgia Highway 42.  According to police, an 18-year-old man was driving the car south on the highway. All of a sudden, the automobile left the roadway and hit an embankment. At that point, it became airborne and struck several trees.

When authorities got to the crash scene, they discovered that an 18-year-old passenger had already passed away. Two other car occupants were transported to the hospital. The road was wet when the accident happened.

The surviving loved ones of the passenger who died in the Georgia crash may opt to file a wrongful death claim against the driver and any separate owner of the car, seeking a judgment for monetary damages. Likewise, the injured passengers may file personal injury claims against the driver and/or owner. If the driver was negligent behind the wheel, such as by driving too quickly for road conditions, then he may be held liable for the death and injuries resulting from the car accident. Liability must be established to the satisfaction of the court hearing the case before claims for damages are adjudicated. Monetary damages awarded in a successfully litigated case may help to cover burial costs, hospital bills, the loss of support and other expenses associated with the fatal motor vehicle accident.
