Two people recently lost their lives in a Georgia motor vehicle crash. The car accident took place on a recent Thursday night at the intersection of two streets. Both individuals who died were 19 years old.
According to police, a man was driving on a road at a high rate of speed. All of a sudden, his vehicle left the shoulder of the road. Authorities said he ended up driving through a fence and hitting a house.
The driver passed away in the collision. The female passenger in the front seat of the man’s vehicle also died. Nobody inside the house that was struck suffered injuries in the collision.
The surviving family members of the woman who died in the Georgia car accident may decide to file a wrongful death claim in this case, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages sustained due to the crash. Although the driver of the car passed away in the collision as well, his estate may be sued, and any separate owner of the car he was operating at the time of the crash may also be named a defendant in a wrongful death lawsuit. Liability must be established based upon a showing of negligence — such as speeding — before claims for monetary damages will be determined. A financial damage award may help to cover burial expenses, the loss of support and other monetary damages resulting from the accident. It may also help to address emotional distress and pain and suffering stemming from the fatal wreck.
