A two-car accident sadly claimed the life of one woman in Georgia recently. The fatal accident took place during the late-night hours. It occurred on a Friday.

According to police, a 36-year-old woman was operating a vehicle east on one street in her Chevrolet Aveo. Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was going west on the same street in a Chevrolet Impala. The man reportedly breached the middle line of the road and ended up hitting the woman’s car head-on.

The woman passed away at the crash scene. Two passengers in her car, who are 9 and 13 years old, were taken to the hospital via ambulance for observation as a precaution. The man who was driving the other car was also taken to the hospital after suffering serious injuries deemed not to be life threatening. Authorities continued to investigate the cause of the accident.

The surviving family members of the woman who passed away in the crash may opt to file a wrongful death claim against the man who police said went over the center line and struck her vehicle. They have the right to pursue the reimbursement of monetary damages associated with the fatal accident. Competent proof of negligence is required to establish liability in this type of Georgia car accident case. Only then will a judge determine claims for financial damages. Although monetary compensation cannot bring back a loved one who has died in an accident due to another person’s negligence, it may help the deceased victim’s family to experience a sense of closure in the ordeal.
