A motor vehicle accident took the life of a woman in a recent Georgia crash. The fatal accident occurred on a Monday afternoon. The woman who passed away in the accident was 84 years old.
The woman was entering one street from another road. All of a sudden, a bucket truck ended up T-boning her car. The woman passed away at the crash scene.
One bystander in the area reported that he heard tires screeching for a couple of seconds before the sound of the vehicle impact from a few homes away. That is when he rushed to the accident scene and dialed 911 shortly before 4:40 p.m. Police said the woman had a dog with her at the time of the wreck. Animal Control ended up assuming responsibility for the dog.
If a police investigation reveals that the bucket truck driver was at fault in the fatal accident, the surviving loved ones of the woman who died may choose to exercise their right to file a wrongful death lawsuit against this driver. The driver’s employer may also be named as a defendant. Liability must be established, based upon a showing of negligence, before any claims for damages will be decided. Financial damages might help to address pain and suffering and emotional distress in addition to covering funeral costs and other accident-related losses. A monetary award cannot restore the life of a loved one who has passed away in a Georgia accident caused by another person’s negligence, but it may help the victim’s family to move forward from the tragedy.
