One person’s family is grieving after she lost her life in a vehicle crash in Georgia. Meanwhile, several other individuals were injured in the crash. The car accident took place on a recent Monday night.

At about 11 p.m., a 20-year-old woman was reportedly driving north along a parkway in a Dodge Magnum. As she was going toward an intersection, a 51-year-old woman was also going toward the intersection in a Toyota Sequoia. Two other vehicles had already come to a stop at the intersection’s traffic light: a Ford Mustang and a Mercedes.

The Sequoia went through the intersection, as it had the green light, and the Magnum allegedly hit the Sequoia after running a red light. The Sequoia rolled and ended up slamming into the Mustang, while the Dodge crashed into the Mercedes. The Sequoia’s 51-year-old driver died at the crash scene, while the Magnum’s 20-year-old driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, where her condition was deemed stable. A 74-year-old woman and a boy, 14, were also in the Sequoia and were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The 38-year-old driver of the Mustang was additionally injured and taken to a hospital, while the Mercedes driver suffered no injuries.

The 20-year-old driver believed to have run the red light and caused the multi-vehicle Georgia crash may be held liable for the death and injuries resulting from the car accident. The surviving loved ones of the woman who died have the right to file a wrongful death claim against her, while the injured accident victims have the right to file personal injury claims against her, seeking damages. Liability needs to be established to the civil court’s satisfaction before damage claims will be decided.
