Car accident leads to woman's death in Georgia

One woman lost her life in a recent car-pedestrian accident in Georgia. The car accident took place on a Sunday morning. It occurred during the early morning hours.

The collision occurred at about 3:13 a.m. According to police, a woman, 30, was riding in a subcompact car's front passenger seat. This vehicle was driven by another woman, age 31. When the vehicle's check-engine light came on, the driver pulled over, and the two women got out of the car.

Police said, at that time, a sports car that was driven by a 35-year-old man ended up striking the 30-year-old woman. A person riding in the sports car put the injured woman in the vehicle and took her to the hospital. She ended up being pronounced deceased after arrival.

Motorists in Georgia have a duty to drive at reasonable speeds, in manners that are safe for road conditions, and to exercise additional caution in situations in which disabled vehicles are present. The family of the woman who died may decide to file a wrongful death claim against the individual who was driving the car that reportedly struck her, pursuing monetary damages. If awarded, based upon a showing of negligence, financial damages may help to cover the deceased woman's hospital costs and burial costs, in addition to the loss of income for surviving dependents. Damages might also help to address pain and suffering, along with emotional distress, caused by the car accident. Monetary compensation cannot undo the events leading to the tragic death of a loved one, but it may help grieving family members to more easily move forward.
