Car accident causes 1 death, 1 injury in Georgia

One woman was injured in a Georgia vehicle accident recently. Meanwhile, another person died in the car accident. The crash took place along Interstate 20.

According to police, a Toyota Scion driven by a 24-year-old man struck multiple trees. The vehicle then flipped several times. The crash occurred near the 179th mile marker on the Interstate's westbound side at a little past 3:00 p.m. on a Monday.

One woman who was covered in blood was reportedly attempting to flag down motorists for assistance following the wreck. Police said the woman then went to a medical center with an injury to her head. The 22-year-old woman was later considered to be in good condition, but head injuries can be tricky. The 24-year-old driver was killed in the wreck.

The woman who was injured in the Georgia wreck might decide to file a personal injury claim in this case. Even though the man who is believed to have caused the car accident when he crashed into several trees ended up passing away, his estate may still face litigation; in addition, any separate owner of the vehicle he was driving at the time of the accident may be sued. Competent proof of negligence -- such as speeding or driving while distracted -- is required to establish financial responsibility in a way that pleases the civil court hearing the case. Although monetary compensation cannot undo the events that led to the woman's injuries, it may help the woman to cover her hospital bills and other expenses associated with the tragic vehicle crash.
