Another fatal accident has happened in the state, and this time there were three deaths. This accident was on a Georgia roadway and took place around 3 a.m. This fatal accident occurred on June 19, 2015, and involved a tractor-trailer. It occurred close to mile marker 72 in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 16.

According to Coroner Greg Higgs of Treutlen County, the tractor-trailer collided with a car by hitting it in the rear. The small car was carrying three people. In the car was a 27-year-old female, a 28-year-old male and a 24-year-old male; unfortunately, they all died due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver and one passenger were in the front seats of the car. However, the third victim was a passenger in the rear and became pinned between the back and the front seats. His body was only able to be extracted after Treutlen Fire and Rescue removed one of the car’s front seats.

No information was immediately available about the truck driver’s injuries. He was, however, reportedly very upset because of the accident. There was no mention of whether there would be charges places against the driver of the tractor-trailer.

Accidents such as this one are becoming more prevalent each year. Families of Georgia motorists who are victims of a fatal accident may want to seek a monetary settlement for pain and suffering, for lost wages and for final expenses. They may benefit by speaking with an attorney who is well versed with the laws of this state and can help to file a suit in a Georgia Civil Court.
