Georgia fatal accident kills 3 and injures 2

Fatal accidents on Georgia roadways have been a real problem this year. A recent fatal accident occurred because one person was allegedly breaking several laws. The June 21, 2015, accident happened on Interstate 75 around 5:25 a.m.

A 20-year-old driver of a pick-up truck was traveling north in a southbound lane when he hit a small car head-on. Not only was he driving the wrong way, he was also driving under the influence of alcohol while being underage and was driving with no license. He was arrested at the scene of the accident.

In the car were two men and three children. One man died at the scene as did two of the children, ages seven and eight. Another man and a 3-year-old child were seriously injured in the accident and were transported to a medical facility for treatment.

The wrong-way driver was arrested and charged with first-degree vehicular homicide for the three deaths, reckless driving, serious injury by a vehicle, and driving on the wrong side of the road. He was also charged for having an open container, having alcohol as a minor, and driving on a suspended or revoked license. This driver is being held without bond.

Georgia residents who are injured and the families of those who are killed by a negligent driver may wish to seek restitution for their losses. An attorney may be able to help those who survive a fatal accident and the families of those who do not survive. Any victimized parties may wish to file a civil suit in a Georgia civil court to get help with final expenses, medical bills and pain and suffering.
