Georgia fatal accident also sends 5 to hospital

A man from another state has been charged due to his role in a crash that killed one driver and inured five passengers on Interstate 75. This fatal accident happened at about 3:30 a.m. on June 27, 2015, and it involved three vehicles. Accidents such as this have become prominent on Georgia roadways, making travel more dangerous, especially on compromised roads.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the 21-year-old man from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was driving a sports car when he lost control of his vehicle on wet roads. His car began to hydroplane causing his car to leave the interstate and then re-enter the roadway where it struck another car.  After that crash, the sports car hit a guardrail and then came to a stop in the path of vehicles traveling southbound.

At that point, another car with a 38-year-old driver struck the sports car, and the driver of that car was killed in the collision. Another five passengers had to be transported to Cartersville Medical Center, but information as to which vehicle those passengers were riding in was not immediately available. The driver of the sports car was arrested and charged with failure to maintain his lane, traveling too fast for the conditions and problems with tire requirements; he also faces a charge of second-degree homicide in a vehicle. Further tests of that driver's blood are pending.

Fatal accidents can happen in the blink of an eye and can occur even when all drivers are following the proper safety rules. However, when drivers are speeding or driving recklessly, they add risk to everyone on the road. Families who lose loved ones in a fatal accident may want to speak to an attorney who can help file a suit in Georgia Civil Court for wrongful death.
