Georgia car accident leaves two dead

Sometimes, when a fatal accident occurs, it is difficult for authorities to determine who caused the accident. In some cases, however, determining which driver caused a car accident is extremely easy. In a recent accident that occurred in southern Georgia, the driver who acted negligently is fairly obvious.

A 34-year-old man driving a pickup truck was trying to pass a school bus on a two-lane road, according to Georgia State Patrol. While attempting to pass, the pickup truck struck a car coming from the other direction head on, killing the two occupants – a 22-year-old from another state and a 23-year-old from Georgia. The accident happened around 4 p.m. on Feb. 25.

The occupants of the car that was struck were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to South Georgia Medical Center for treatment of his injuries and was listed as in stable condition later that day. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.

Family members who are left to mourn a loss after a fatal car accident like this one may want to file a civil suit with a Georgia court against the driver who they believe acted negligently. Through a wrongful death suit, they can seek compensation that may help them overcome the financial burdens often associated with an unexpected loss. When compensation is awarded for a wrongful death, it often covers the deceased's final expenses, along with providing compensation to family members for their pain and suffering or future lost wages.
