Three people’s lives were snuffed out in a tragic motor vehicle accident that recently occurred in the state of Georgia. One of the fatal car accident victims was just 1 year old. The victims’ surviving loved ones are now left to grieve and question how such an accident could have happened.

The fatal accident took place near a street intersection. According to police, a 23-year-old woman was driving a mid-size car in the right lane. At the same time, a 61-year-old woman was driving a pickup truck in the middle lane, going in the opposite direction. Apparently, the younger driver ended up losing control of her car and hit a curb made out of concrete.

The younger driver then reportedly went over the concrete median in the center of the road and entered the path of the pickup truck. Both the younger driver and her 28-year-old female passenger died at the accident scene. In addition, the driver’s daughter, who was riding in the car’s back seat, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, where she also died. It was unclear whether the truck driver suffered injuries in the collision.

The surviving family members of the deceased front-seat car passenger may decide to file a wrongful death claim, seeking the reimbursement of damages sustained in the fatal car accident. Although the driver believed to have caused the accident passed away, her estate may still be sued. In addition, any other person with an ownership interest in the car she was driving may be named in a lawsuit. A suit that is successfully litigated may result in a monetary damage award, which may help with covering funeral costs and other losses stemming from the Georgia accident.
