A motor vehicle accident recently took place in the state of Georgia, causing several injuries. The car accident took place on a Thursday. It involved three automobiles.
The accident took place shortly before 7:20 a.m. along United States Highway 441. Police reported that a man, 42, was driving a car and suddenly entered the path of a pickup truck driven by a 40-year-old man. The two vehicles ended up T-boning.
A 36-year-old woman could not stop the car she was driving and ended up crashing into the other two automobiles. The male pickup truck driver and the female car driver were hurt and taken to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the 42-year-old man who is said to have caused the accident was also transported to the hospital along with his three children: ages 15, 15 and 8. This man ended up being charged with DUI involving drugs, serious injury by automobile, failure to buckle in a child and failure to yield.
In this Georgia car accident case, the pickup driver and the injured woman may decide to file personal injury claims against the man believed responsible for the crash, seeking the reimbursement of damages. If the individual facing charges is found guilty in criminal court, proof of the conviction may be presented in a related civil court proceeding in an effort to establish liability. Once liability is established to the satisfaction of the civil court hearing the case, based upon a showing of negligence, claims for financial damages will be adjudicated.
