A motor vehicle collision recently claimed one person’s life in Georgia. Another person was seriously injured in the car accident. The wreck occurred on a recent Sunday afternoon.

According to authorities, four vehicles were involved in the crash, including a truck belonging to the U.S. Postal Service. The cause of the crash was not immediately known. However, according to witnesses, the accident occurred when one driver lost control while descending on a hill.

The vehicle whose driver lost control reportedly struck three others. The driver believed responsible for the accident is the one who passed away in the crash. Meanwhile, one other person was critically injured, and both a minor injury and a moderate injury were also reported. One of the injured parties appeared to be a pregnant woman, while another one was a postal driver.

Any seriously injured parties may choose to file personal injury claims. While the postal driver is likely entitled to workers’ compensation benefits, he has a separate right to pursue a third party negligence claim. Although the driver who reportedly caused the multi-vehicle crash ended up dying in the car accident, this individual’s estate may be named a defendant in a personal injury claim. Also, any other individual who had an ownership interest in the vehicle this person was driving at the time of the accident may be sued as well. Liability must be established to the satisfaction of the civil court hearing the case before any claims for monetary damages will be determined in Georgia.
