A two-vehicle crash led to the deaths of five people in Georgia recently. The fatal accident took place along Interstate 16 westbound. It occurred on a Wednesday.
At around 5:55 a.m., police were called to a vehicle crash that involved a Ford Mustang going west and a Kia Soul going east. Traffic had stopped for construction on Interstate 16 eastbound near Interstate 95. All of a sudden, the Mustang reportedly breached the median and hit the Soul.
Three individuals in the Mustang passed away. Meanwhile, two people riding in the Soul also died at the accident scene. A collision that killed five individuals took place in this same area last year in May, and five people were also killed in an April 2015 accident in this area.
The surviving loved ones of the Mustang passengers who died in the Georgia crash, as well as the family of the deceased victims from the Soul, have the right to file wrongful death claims in this fatal accident case, seeking damages. If the driver of the Mustang is one of the three people in the Mustang who passed away in the crash, his or her estate may still be sued, and any separate owner of the Mustang may named a defendant in the lawsuit as well since this driver went over the median. Competent proof of negligence is necessary to establish liability in a manner that the civil court finds satisfactory. Only then will the court decide claims for monetary damages. A damage award may help the plaintiffs to cover burial costs and the loss of income for surviving dependents.
