A single-car accident took the lives of two people in Georgia recently. The fatal accident occurred on a Monday morning. The individuals who died in the crash were 42 and 52.
Police said they were told at a little before 2 a.m. about a car that was going north on a road. The car reportedly spun around before striking a big tree. This accident occurred when the vehicle left the roadway on the road’s right shoulder.
According to police, the car split in two near a driveway. They said the car’s front half actually kept traveling while the back part became stuck between multiple trees. The driver of the car was ejected as a result of the impact of the crash, and both he and his passenger were killed.
The family members of the vehicle passenger who died in the Georgia accident may opt to file a wrongful death claim against the driver. Although the driver of the vehicle died in the single-car accident, the driver’s legal estate may be held liable, and any other person who maintained an ownership interest in the car might also be named a defendant in the civil claim. Liability must be established in civil court, based upon a showing of negligence, before monetary damage claims will be adjudicated in this type of fatal accident case. A monetary award cannot restore the life of a person killed in such a vehicle accident, but it can help to provide the surviving loved ones with financial relief and even a sense of justice.
