There are times when the cause of an accident is not immediately obvious, so authorities must take some time to investigate the incident before filing charges or even placing blame on any of the people involved. That seems to be the case in an accident now being jointly investigated by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol. The recent two-vehicle fatal accident occurred on Georgia 42.

At this time it is unclear as to which vehicle caused the accident that took the lives of the two passengers of the two vehicles involved. However, it is known that the 37-year-old female passenger of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by the county coroner. The driver of the vehicle in which she was traveling was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The other vehicle’s 23-year-old male passenger was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. This person later succumbed to the injuries he suffered in the accident and died at the hospital, according to Crawford County Sheriff. There was no mention of the driver of that vehicle being injured.

A victim of a fatal accident often leaves loved ones behind who suffer from their loss both emotionally and financially. The emotional pain of a loss is often exacerbated by the financial burdens that unexpected expenses can put on a family. Those who have lost loved ones to fatal accidents in Georgia have the right to pursue wrongful death claims against the parties who they believe caused their loved ones’ deaths.
