Every driver, regardless of what kind of vehicle they are driving, has a responsibility to the other vehicles on the road. Failure to exercise due care on the roadways could easily lead to an accident. The Georgia State Patrol has reason to believe that a motorcycle rider may have been driving recklessly shortly being involved in a motorcycle crash.

Preliminary reports suggest the motorcycle rider was driving carelessly when he attempted to pass another vehicle on Georgia Highway 67. Another motorcycle rider had the misfortune of being in the way. The two motorcycles collided.

Both riders initially survived the crash. The injuries of one rider were severe enough that emergency personnel transported him to an area hospital via helicopter. The supposedly reckless rider was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a doctor.

The surviving rider, who suffered serious injuries, was in critical condition at last report. The 51-year-old man could be facing a long recovery and considerable expense. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs could be significant. If the man is employed, he will likely miss time from work as he focuses on his recovery

The stress caused by these financial burdens could hinder his recovery. He has the right to file a personal injury claim against the estate of the deceased motorcycle rider. If he prevails in his claim by proving that the other biker acted negligently, the court will consider the specific items of damage that he claims to have sustained.Any monetary judgment won may help alleviate some of the monetary losses associated with this motorcycle crash.
