Commitment to Protecting Rights

Based out of Dalton, Georgia, Mr. Smalley serves all of northwest Georgia and southwest Tennessee, including practicing throughout Atlanta and its suburbs such as Marietta, Jasper, Alpharetta, Duluth, Dalton, Smyrna, Gainesville. He also works often in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dalton's proximity to I-75 makes it convenient for all stops in between. Dedicated to protecting his clients' rights, Mr. Smalley is not afraid to travel for a case.

Legal and Community Services

Robert joined the law firm of McCamy, Phillips, Tuggle and Fordham in 1992. He has served as Whitfield County Attorney since 2001. Prior to that, he was Assistant County Attorney since 1993.

In his role as Whitfield County Attorney, Mr. Smalley has daily opportunities to help members of the public with "kitchen table" sorts of problems and issues involving their communities, tax assessments, as well as helping the public understand the various functions of their state, local, and federal governments and also how regular people can have an impact on their government.

Smalley was also appointed to serve as Liaison Counsel for the ConAgra peanut butter litigation currently pending in federal district court in Atlanta.

He was also involved in a leadership role dealing with the national litigation surrounding the Tri State Crematory disaster. Mr. Smalley estimates he has worked with over 500 of the victims in this case, and considers it one of his most noteworthy achievements.

He is also very active in the community, as a member of the PTA. He proudly supports Arts education programs in elementary education in Dalton, and has been a part of creating a program called, "Art Makes us Smart." In addition to this and his PTA involvement, Robert Smalley serves the Dalton-Whitfield Chamber of Commerce on the Legislative Action Committee. He has also served his local church, Dalton First Presbyterian and worked with numerous community organizations such as: Leadership Dalton-Whitfield; Advanced Leadership Academy; United Way board; Habitat for Humanity; Hospital Authority chair; Whitfield-Dalton Day Care board; Early Head Start chair; Rotary Club service chair; and Whitfield Healthcare Foundation, Business Relations Chair.
